Update Progress – United World – January 2025

Hello, dear followers,
Happy New Year to all of you! We wish you health, happiness, and the fulfillment of your dreams in 2025. May this year be filled with love and joy for everyone.
A warm greeting from the Skynetronics team!
To mark the start of the new year, we decided to share this post and give you a glimpse behind the scenes of the development of the much-anticipated game, United World.
In this post, we’ll walk you through the stages of development from the very beginning up to the moment of publishing this update. We’ll also continue sharing behind-the-scenes insights whenever there are new developments to report.

Let’s begin!

Early Days
Since publishing our first article on June 27, 2024
coming soon, United World: A Virtual Life Simulation Game for the Blind and Visually Impaired
we’ve been working intensively on the game. Even before writing that article, we had already started creating the project’s core files.
One of the major challenges we faced initially was finding a reliable file synchronization system that offered advanced permissions and adequate storage. Most services we explored were costly, so we decided to build our own dedicated cloud service for file synchronization.
After intensive effort, we successfully developed this cloud service, enabling seamless file sharing and synchronization. With this hurdle overcome, we moved on to creating the game’s core files.

Initial Features

We began by developing the game’s graphical interface, including settings, login, and account creation pages. Progress was slow at first, as we manually wrote all the includes rather than relying on external scripts from other projects. This approach took extra time but ensured the game’s code was entirely original.
After completing the includes, we tested their efficiency and functionality. These included features like the game’s rotation system, UI interactions, and button functionalities. Once testing was complete, we moved on to developing the game’s server.

Server and Networking

When connecting the server to the client, we encountered networking issues related to data transmission. After extensive troubleshooting and testing, the team resolved these problems, ensuring a stable and reliable network system.

Database Development

Next, we built a custom database system to store player data and game elements, such as maps, vehicles, non-playable characters (NPCs), and other assets.
Given the importance of data security and consistency, we conducted thorough testing and verification to prevent potential issues like data loss in the future.

Encryption System

To protect players and their data, we implemented a robust encryption system. This ensures that all communication between devices is encrypted, with the server generating passwords automatically for maximum security.
While the encryption system initially had several issues, our dedicated team resolved them through persistent effort, achieving a secure and seamless experience for players.

Maps and Movement

We also worked on the game’s map system and movement physics to provide players with realistic and dynamic experiences. However, creating a rotation system that mimics real-life physics proved challenging and required advanced mathematical expertise.
After much effort and troubleshooting, we successfully completed this stage, though minor issues remain to be addressed, such as preventing players from falling into void spaces or passing through restricted areas.

Current Phase

Currently, we are refining the map and rotation systems to resolve outstanding issues, such as swimming mechanics and NPC interactions with the new map system.

General Notes

We are a small team of just three individuals working on this massive project. Like everyone else, we have our own lives, jobs, and families to manage. Among us are a student, a government employee, and a freelancer. Despite our personal commitments, we strive to balance this project with our daily responsibilities to deliver the best gaming experience possible.

Sound Effects

Another significant challenge has been sourcing high-quality sound effects. Finding, downloading, and editing sound libraries to match the game environment is time-consuming. Moreover, premium sound libraries are often expensive, and we currently fund this project entirely out of our own pockets, without any external support.

Moving Forward

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to delivering a groundbreaking gaming experience with United World. Everything in the game, from its environment to gameplay mechanics and navigation systems, is being built from scratch by our talented team.
We will continue sharing updates and behind-the-scenes insights whenever there’s new progress to report. If you have any questions or inquiries, feel free to reach out via our contact page or leave a comment.
Wishing you all the best, and may this new year bring you joy and success!
Warm regards,
The Skynetronics Team

Welcome, thank you for your comment. We are doing our best to finish the game as soon as possible, but the game is very huge and requires a lot of work to be in the desired format so everyone will enjoy. We built everything with our own hands and did not take anything from any game. Everything in this game is completely new, and written by our own team.
